The big news, of course, is Apple’s 23rd annual Worldwide Developers Conference happening in San Francisco. If you weren’t one of the software developers that got a ticket in the first hour and 43 minutes that they were available, you can follow along with a few live blogs. The New York Times has a good one, and The Wall Street Journal’s has a few pictures and a video stream. For a constant. quick updates with pictures and some (sometimes snarky) commentary, check out engadget’s live blog.

Expect upgrades to iOS, its mobile operating system, as well as the launch of the new Mac operating system, OS X Mountain Lion. There are also rumors of a new map service and a refreshed line of computers.

In other news, the Times also reported that the major broadcast networks will be briging the TV content rating system over to all of their online streaming content. This comes off the heels of researching that showed how much children are watching programs on other screens. Times reporter Brian Stelter wrote that it is, “an illustration of the ways that television networks are having to adapt to the Internet, where there has been a surge in the streaming of TV shows.”

Finally, LostRemote came out with a couple stories that are really worth a read. The first, is that Intel plans on releasing a new TV with facial recognition technology to help create a new “virtual TV” service that can employ much more targeted advertising and interactivity.

LostRemote also reported on Twitter’s first TV spot, which will promote its first ever curated hashtage — #NASCAR. This is the part of a larger deal between NASCAR and Twitter that will be rolling out over the rest of race season.
