Microsoft was looking to expand the awareness of its web design and development tools, Expression and Silverlight.
Magnet Media was hired to conceive, execute, and track the software’s full presence on social media. Our campaign began with a consultation on the social media landscape, with recommendations on how to improve and optimize engagement with the community. We then conducted daily channel maintenance on behalf of Silverlight’s and Expression’s YouTube, iTunes, blip.tv, Facebook, Twitter, Digg ,and StumbleUpon profiles. Benchmarks were set across a variety of goals including new fans, followers, and traffic driven to a range of content, with KPI’s tied to traffic driven to the SDK-download pages for the software titles.
At the end of the quarter-long campaign, we exceeded every stated goal, with 500% more Facebook fans, 240% more Twitter followers, 1000% more web designers and developers exposed to the download page, and 2600% more overall video views.
