Vayner Media‘s mobile-first marketing and production agency Grapestory called upon Magnet to produce a broadcast-quality Vine video for its client, Budweiser, which was to be featured multiple times during the live Super Bowl 2014 broadcast. This situation was unique. Budweiser already had a Vine like this one online as part of its #ThankaBud sober driving campaign, but that one had been created on an iPhone. In order to play (and look good) on live TV, it needed to be recreated at top quality.
Working on a very tight deadline (less than 48 hours!), Magnet’s team produced the stop motion Vine video for Budweiser. The shoot was set up like a print photography piece, complete with a professional print-trained photographer on set to shoot each frame with proper lighting and direction. The final piece was delivered within the assigned, short turnaround time and because the client was pleased with the result, it needed no revisions.
The spot was featured multiple times during the Super Bowl’s live broadcast, which had 111.5 million viewers, making it the most watched TV program in U.S. history. Vayner Media and Budweiser were both happy with the work and congratulated the quick turnaround.
