A group of friends started a club to teach digital literacy to underprivileged students at their school in India. A young woman made a documentary about the challenges that Morgan, a non-binary transgender high school student, faces on a daily basis. Students in London organized an event to raise awareness about food waste — serving guests snacks rejected by the local grocery store but still safe and delicious.
These are just a few examples of the creative, productive, and socially conscious projects young people are coming up with all across the world — and on a regular basis. Adobe’s annual Youth Voices Awards highlights these projects, spreading the news about bright young minds using their bourgeoning media, technological, and artistic talents for social good.
This year marks the 4th annual competition, open to youth ages 13 to 19 who can submit projects in the following five categories: Animation, Documentary, Narrative, Venture, and Visual.
And you can vote for your favorites! See all finalists and their projects here — and vote by Monday, June 15th!
“At Adobe, we believe in the power of creativity to make the world a better place,” said Michelle Yates, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at Adobe and Executive Director of the Adobe Foundation. “The Aspire Awards give young people an opportunity to explore issues that are important to them and creatively present possible solutions. Ultimately, the skills they learn while creating their projects help these youth become active and engaged members of their communities and society at large.”
We worked with Adobe to showcase some of last year’s winners and can’t wait to see who takes the top honors this year!
