How does the nation’s largest Black-owned bank continue to educate and empower Black people to close the racial wealth gap and create generational wealth?
OneUnited Bank recruited Magnet to help plan, execute, and produce the bank’s first virtual financial literacy conference on Juneteenth 2021. Partnering with Visa and Fidelity Investments, OneUnited and Magnet brought together national financial experts and thought leaders for a series of workshops on home-buying, creating and maintaining a successful business, and how-to sessions on drafting a will, buying life insurance, saving, investing, and improving credit scores.
Magnet, a women-owned business, was excited to partner with OneUnited Bank for the inaugural event. We helped them execute every step of the production process, from producing videos of national financial experts and thought leaders to securing a historically Black location in Harlem and an award-winning BIPOC crew. We collaborated with their internal teams to create a beautiful, cohesive design that celebrated black culture and immersed audiences into the conference.
The event was widely successful as nearly 6,000 live participants tuned in on a sunny Saturday to receive valuable financial information from experts and celebrities like Tiffany Haddish. National television, financial press, and print outlets picked up the story, growing awareness of OneUnited’s initiatives to financially empower black communities.
